Privacy Policy
IqraQuran is a free service for reading the Noble Quran. We collect as
little as possible, we sell nothing, and we show no advertising.
Last updated: July 6, 2026.
What we store
Reading without an account needs nothing from you. Your last page and display preferences are kept in your own browser (localStorage), never sent to us.
With an account we store what you give us: your email address (your sign-in identity), your display name, an optional profile picture, and a password we keep only as a bcrypt hash — we cannot read it. Using the features adds: bookmarks, your last-read page, and Quran Khwani participation (which Juz you checked out and submitted, and which pages of it you opened in the app).
For abuse prevention we record the IP address a self-signup came from and apply short-lived, per-IP rate limits on sign-in and forms.
Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and all its data at any time at iqraquran.com/delete-account or from "My profile" in the mobile app.
Cookies & sessions
An HttpOnly session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 180 days (signing out removes it immediately). We also use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — it sets its own cookies; no other trackers, and no third-party advertising of any kind.
Who can see what
Your display name and profile picture appear on Quran Khwani boards next to the Juz you read — that visibility is the point of a shared khatam. Your email address is never shown to other members. Your bookmarks and reading progress are visible only to you (and to the administrator, who can see account records).
Third parties we rely on
Emails (verification, password reset, contact form) are delivered by SendGrid. Profile pictures are stored in a private Amazon S3 bucket. Fonts load from Google Fonts, icons from Font Awesome, and one charting library from jsDelivr — these CDNs see your IP address when your browser fetches those files, as with any website that uses them. We share no account data with anyone.
Your choices
You can edit your name and picture any time (My profile), and reset your password by email. To delete your account and everything attached to it — bookmarks, progress, Quran Khwani assignments — write to us via the contact form or email [email protected]; deletion is permanent. Quran Khwanis you ARRANGED remain (a shared khatam shouldn't vanish with one account), but your name is detached from them.
